Flying Saucer Music #3
Sky Men by Geoff Goddard

Goddard
There is little information available on Goddard, but the major force behind this song was Joe Meek, a legendary British recording engineer and producer. Meek was active in the 1960s. His best known hit was “Telstar” recorded by the Tornados. Meek wrote and produced an album entitled I Hear A New World, which is basically a space opera about aliens living on the moon. It was never released commercially, since it was recorded as a demo of Meek’s creative techniques. One of the songs from that record will be posted here soon.

Meek
Sky Men was apparently a collaborative effort of the two men, and was recorded in October of 1963. I think that Meek had an interest in contactee-type experiences, and may have thought that he was in fact communicating with extra-human intelligences from time to time.

That song’s awesome.
Telstar was pretty cool too. I love synthsizers.

Just don’t let any “Sky Men” get close to Redfern. There are…um… unresolved issues……;)

Glad you both enjoyed it. I had tears of joy and laughter when I first heard the song.
Ah, Nick’s just stubborn, but we love him all the same. I have a feeling that he “hates” the aliens mostly because of the company they keep (the believers)!
