Thanks Jonah. I didn’t know about the freezer trick, but I probably wouldn’t have done it, since the computer is still under an extended warranty. I’ve never had a problem with Apple products in 15 years until now, which is a pretty good record. I started with them because they used to be the best for graphics work when I was doing the Excluded Middle zine back in the early ’90s.

Yes, I’d like a copy of the picture. I found most of my pics miraculously backed up sometime in the last few months on an external drive. I say “miraculous” because I don’t remember doing it!

Two things Greg. If it’s not being recognized, you might try the old ‘Hard Drive in the Freezer‘ trick…

Or, if it’s just software problem, simply make a “slave” in any other computer and you should be able to recover what you need.

My hard drive died a few weeks ago. However, I sent it in to a service that restores hard drive info, and was able to retreive all the files that were lost. However, the service ain’t cheap!

Since then I received as an xmas gift a service called Carbonite that automatically backs up your hard drive. A must for a lazy ass like myself!
